Character Name: Clementine (re-app with Wonderland former memories as it's yet to be 30 days)
Series: The Walking Dead Game
Timeline: Season 3 episode 2 (when Conrad wants to hand Clementine over to The New Frontier in exchange for what the group needs)
Canon Resource Link: this page
Character History: Clementine was 8 when the apocalypse started. She had a babysitter because her parents were in Savannah. Her father was one of the first to get bit. Her mother leaves multiple voice messages on the home phone, detailing the start of the outbreak. Lee arrives at the house, looking for help. He reminds Clementine of her father so she trusts him to take care of her pretty quickly. He convinces her to leave her home even though she wanted to wait for her parents to return. Together, they leave her home and head out of town to a farm.

Unfortunately, the farm proves to not be safe either. Walkers attack again. They're kicked out of the farm by the father of the man who was killed by the walkers, and they pair up with Kenny and his family (Duck and Katjaa). They make it into a town called Macon where Lee is originally from, and they from a group with others at an abandoned store. The group starts out refusing to let them in in case one of them is bit, and Lee has to intervene while Clementine witnesses it all.

The group decides they cannot stay at the store. They find themselves at a motel where they make their home for a few months, managing to keep themselves fed by rationing a limited amount of food. Clementine becomes friends with Duck, and they color and play together, trying to still be kids.

Eventually, it becomes clear the motel isn't sustainable, because they have run out of food supplies. The group is invited to a running farm by a family who needs their gasoline. It all seems too good to be true, and well, it is. The problem is the family is also cannibals. Lee stops Clementine before she puts any meat in her mouth but just barely. It turns out one of their own was being used to make their dinner They're imprisoned, and Kenny kills another of their group when he thinks they're dying so they won't come back as a walker while they're trapped. The man was the father of another woman in their group, and Clementine is there to witness it all. Clem helps them to escape. Lee kills the rest of the family. Clementine is afraid, but she also starts to understand how necessary it is.

The group is again forced to leave the motel when a gang of survivors steals from them with help from one of their own, Ben, and another walker horde comes, resulting in Duck getting bit. They pull over to the side of the road in their RV, an argument ensues, and an innocent woman within their group is shot dead in the process. The woman who shot her escapes with the RV while their backs are turned. Betrayal and death are a theme in this new apocalyptic world, and Clementine gets a crash course on it all.

The group moves on, heading towards Savannah primarily because Kenny thinks they can all live on a boat. Before they make it, Duck's nearly dead. Clem watches the family head into the woods, seeing how sick Duck is. From within the woods, there's the sound of a shot as Katjaa takes her own life, unable to live without her son. It's Lee who shoots the child before he turns. Clementine hears both shots as she waits for them to return.

At some point during all this, Clementine starts getting someone talking back to her on that walkie talkie of hers. She responds, assuming they are a friend, assuming they truly want to help her find her mom and dad (she is deeply wrong, and many will pay for this mistake of hers). Taking a train to the new city, Lee starts to train Clementine in survival (like cutting her hair short so walkers can't grab it, shooting a gun). When they arrive at Savannah, it becomes clear to Clementine that they're not going to search for her parents (deep down she knows they are already gone). She sneaks off when no one is looking. The rest of the group is forced to find her, leading them on a suicide mission through the city that claims three lives.

Lee gets bit, searching for her. He even removes his own arm in hopes of stopping the walker sickness from getting to him, but it's no use. Clementine immediately regrets running away. Lee finds her and wrestles the man, but it's Clementine who shoots him to save Lee. Lee embraces her as she shakes, and the two of them are forced to cover themselves in blood and guts so they can walk through the zombie mob waiting outside.

As they try to escape the city, Clementine sees her parents... as walkers, just as she feared. Lee passes out simultaneously. Clem drags him into a nearby storage unit, but it's too late. She realizes the reason he cut off his own arm is because he was bitten. He is going to turn into one of them. Lee locks his own hand to the radiator, and then he tells her she has to kill him. She refuses at first. She loves him more than anyone alive in this world now. For months, he has protected her and taken care of her. She picks up the hand gun with tears running down her face and shoots him before she leaves.

It's Omid and Krista that Clementine finds (the sole people remaining from the group). For months, she stays with them until Clementine makes a poor decision that results in Omid's death. Then it's only her and Krista.

More time passes, Clementine is 11. The zombie apocalypse has been going on for over two years. It should be noted that everyone in the original group has now died (8) or disappeared (2). Krista and Clementine try to go north where it's colder where walkers are supposed to be slower. On the way, they are ambushed and ultimately separated from each other.

Clementine tries to find her way and find food. Eventually, she runs into a dog who bites her in its hunger, and she is forced to kill it. As she continues down the path, she runs into a group who feel the bite on her arm means she's been bitten by a zombie. Despite her protests, they lock her in a shed for the night to see if she ends up turning.

However, Clementine knows she risks infection or death if she waits so she escapes, and then sneaks back towards the cabin where the group lives. She manipulates, steals, sneaks, and searches for the supplies she needs to take care of her wound.

All by herself, she sutures her wound despite the pain, and then to make matters worse, a walker sneaks into the shed. Clementine singlehandedly kills it. The group finally comes to check on her. She declares, I'm still not bitten, and the group has the good sense to appear guilty (most of them at least).

In the morning, Clementine goes with two other men to try to get food, but it ends in disaster (as usual). One of the men is bit (and ultimately ends up dying) so she tries to help the other one even though he's angry at her for doing so. The two of them end up in a bunker where moonshine is located. The man spends the night feeling sorry for himself as well as unloading all of his problems on Clementine who tries her best to be encouraging and to not abandon him. She also has a drink of moonshine, because she's in a damn zombie apocalypse, and why not?

Eventually, Clementine makes it back to the cabin. However, the group has a past which Clementine doesn't know about. It involves a man named Carver. He was in charge of the place that they all used to live in, but they escaped because Carver is terrible. It's Carver who finds the cabin while Sarah and Clementine are there alone. Sarah hides while Clementine deals with Carver, facing him down, despite her own fear.

The arrival of Carver prompts the group to leave. They end up at a cabin with a handful of other people, including Kenny who Clementine thought had been dead. Accidentally, they're responsible for killing one of the men's boyfriend, and this is a situation Clementine was forced to navigate, deciding who to be honest with and when she should be honest. She manages to effectively calm everyone involved in the situation without anyone dying, but Carver is closing in on them all with his group.

They're trapped inside. Clementine throws herself in front of someone else in hopes of saving them. Carver picks her up and places the gun to her temple. The situation is then diffused. The man whose lover they killed is killed here and now, and they are taken back to Carver's place, an old supermarket which has been transformed, into Carver's kingdom. Eventually, they all come up with a plan to escape.

On their way out, Carver catches up with them, but Clementine manages to catch him by surprise, knocking the weapon from his hand. Kenny beats Carver to death, and Clementine insists she stay to watch. Outside, she's covered in walker guts, but Carver's men are shooting from above as a horde descends. Sarita, Kenny's girlfriend, ends up being bit on the wrist by a zombie. They have met one person by now who survived a walker bite by immediately removing the limb. Clementine chops the woman's arm in hopes of saving her. However, Clementine's choice does not save Sarita at all, but ends up resulting in a quicker death when walkers immediately pulling her to pieces. Kenny then resents her deeply and yells at her over her choice to take Sarita's arm.

The group has new trouble to deal with when Rebekah goes into labor, and it is up to Clementine and Jane to find meds to help. There's a boy with medicine, but in order to get it from him, they would have to steal. Remembering her previous experience with people who stole and the consequences (i.e. being kidnapped by a psychopath), Clementine decides to not steal from the boy. Rebekah is able to give birth with a zombie population baring down on them, and the baby named AJ is born into this apocalyptic world.

Unfortunately, the boy's group blames them for the loss of supplies despite Clementine not stealing. They're involved in a shootout, during which Rebekah dies and starts to turn into a walker. Clementine shoots her before she can turn, saving AJ who is still in her arms. She grabs the baby and runs for cover.

Miraculously, they manage to escape, taking the boy as prisoner, but they are only in for more loss. Luke dies falling into a frozen lake despite Clementine's attempts to save him. Two members of the group plus the prisoner decide to make an escape with most of the supplies, because they're afraid of Kenny, and they shoot Clementine in the process.

When Clementine wakes up, Jane and Kenny are arguing. Jane makes a plan to pretend like she's lost AJ so she can show Clementine that Kenny is too dangerous. This backfires, because Kenny attacks and tries to kill Jane while Clementine is watching. She kills Kenny before he can deal the final blow, and Jane reveals the truth, which angers Clementine. Clem takes AJ and heads out on her own.

Clementine does her best to keep the newborn fed and protected. There's one harrowing incident where she tries to shoot a rabbit, but instead sees AJ is in danger and accidentally gets her finger stuck in a car door. The last section of her finger then has to be removed likely by Clementine herself before infection sets in.

At some point, she meets and helps save Ava from a walker horde, and Ava invites Clementine to her group, The New Frontier. Clementine declines at first, because she doesn't trust other people and she has her team with AJ. Later, she ends up relenting likely because AJ and her are too hungry on their own and AJ starts to get sick with a mystery illness. She joins and gets branded on her arm with the symbol of the New Frontier on the promise they would help AJ.

Clementine is told that medicine will not make him better, and she cannot use any of the limited supply for AJ. She steals the medicine anyway. She injects AJ with it before she is caught. The act of stealing from the group results in her being kicked out of the New Frontier with nothing (no supplies or weapons to her name). They even hold on to AJ, refusing to let her take him with her despite how much she fights. They say he would only slow her down especially given how ill he is, and she has no other choice but to leave him.

It is not entirely clear what else happens during this time. She's well known enough in a settlement to not be liked and to be considered 'trouble' despite the fact she is 13 years old. but. whatever, game. She spends the rest of her time completely alone until running into Javier. Clementine's looking for a vehicle of some kind, and when she sees one coming, she crashes a tree down on top of it, resulting in the vehicle crashing.

She approaches Javier with a shotgun to the back and takes him as her hostage while insisting he give his van to her for leading him back to the junk place where he left his family and van. They end up at a town, trapped by a horde. Inside, Clementine approaches someone who sold her faulty bullets, and to prove a point, she starts firing at them except one is not so faulty so she straight up murders him. The town's leader puts both Javier and Clem in jail for the night, but Javier is still worried about his family so they make an early escape with help from the doctor in town, riding horses on the way.

His family ends up being okay. They all reunite except then the youngest one is shot in the head and killed in front of all of them, by the same group that had kidnapped Javier. Clementine stays to fight the group off, and Javier joins her while the rest of the group gets Kate back to town in an attempt to save her life after she got shot in the stomach.

It turns out this group is one Clementine is well familiar with. The New Frontier. She purposefully does not tell anyone she was a former member of it. When they catch up with the rest of the group back at the settlement, Kate's in trouble, and The New Frontier shows up at the door, demanding Javier come out and deal with the consequences of killing their men. Javier does, but it still doesn't stop the rest from happening. The New Frontier releases a group of zombies from their truck and tear gas on the entire town, massacring them.

One small group manages to survive and escape. On their way to get better medical help for Kate, they realize the city they're headed toward is under control of the New Frontier. It's at this time Clementine pulls Javier aside to let her know that she used to be part of the group so she can't be seen by that group again and won't be going all the way with them to the city. Unfortunately, someone else hears her confession, and before Javier, Clementine, and Gabe can leave the subway with the rest of their group, Conrad confronts Clementine about it.

He tells Javier they can use Clementine as a bargaining trip with the group to get what they need. Conrad is angry and full of grief over the recent loss of someone he loved at the hands of the New Frontier, and he blames Clementine for it. She tells him to go ahead and shoot her himself, but then Conrad turns the gun on Gabe, and the choice is left to Javier.

This is the point when Clementine will end up in Wonderland.

Abilities/Special Powers: None. Clementine has learned how to fire multiple guns, how to fight walkers with multiple weapons/items, basic first aid, and survival skills.

Third-Person Sample:

Clementine's heart still beats so hard and loud in her chest it echoes into her ears. Her jaw locks tight. Her resolve curled around an aggressive flame, a refusal to give in. There is no telling what will happen to her if they hand her over to the New Frontier, but she doesn't expect them to do anything else (that's how this goes). It's why she doesn't even trust Javier even if he comes closest to someone she trusts.

It was one thing when Conrad had the gun pointed at her, but when he turned it on Gabe- Someone who still manages to act like a teen even in this hellish world? Well, she was actually fucking scared.

But she realizes abruptly she is not in that moment anymore. She is alone with woods under her feet. It's wood she recognizes even if remembering how and why she recognizes it takes longer.

Wonderland.

And then like a flood comes the rest. All the people she came to care about- love in this world (and how strange that feels to her now). She loved them. They were family. She trembles. She feels too unsafe without a gun in hand. It's been years for her. It must have been no more than a month for them. Who's still here? And how is she supposed to deal with this- this in-between?

She's not the same girl she was when she was last here. Not by a long shot.

She goes to her room only to find it empty. She stands out in the hallway, staring in, remembering how she made it hers. Made it home. How can she connect to this place and who she is while still feeling so distant from it too? What if she's not- She takes in one breath releasing it gain, takes in another breath and releases that one too. Her eyes shut and then open.

Clementine shakes her head out of it, pulling a pistol from the closet and holstering it at her side. It's time to find the people she cares about (and it's still cares, isn't it?).

First-Person Sample:

( clementine never used the network much when she was in wonderland before, and she's taken to using it even less often now. the most she ever used it was to conduct interviews on different types of walkers- zombies. once or twice, she used it to get help. once it was to announce making a room for beating the shit out of stuff.

she's switched to audio as she sits on the steps of the mansion, reloading her pistol. )

Hey. So if you're new since the last time I took interviews, I want to know all about the zombies, walkers... or undead fucks of your world.

Wonderland likes making our worlds a reality for a few days so knowing how to handle all that before it happens? It's useful. I'm on the front steps, or we can just talk over the device. I'm not picky. ( and she's not actually sure how good she'll be at writing an article anymore. it's been years since she had a pencil in her hand, since she attempted to type. neither of those skills are important in her world, but at least she'll have the info. that's more important than being any good at the writing of it. ) I want the basics: how to survive them, how to kill them, what their strengths and weaknesses are.

There'll be an updated article for your trouble with all the information you need to have the best chance at staying alive. Next time Wonderland throws zombies our way, you'll at least know a little more about what to do.
